Scott Adams, Dilbert creator, on how society has evolved to keep men in a state of perpetual unhappiness

From his June 15 blog post (yes, I’m late in the game on this)-

“The part that interests me is that society is organized in such a way that the natural instincts of men are shameful and criminal while the natural instincts of women are mostly legal and acceptable. In other words, men are born as round pegs in a society full of square holes. Whose fault is that? Do you blame the baby who didn’t ask to be born male? Or do you blame the society that brought him into the world, all round-pegged and turgid, and said, “Here’s your square hole”?”

“All I’m saying is that society has evolved to keep males in a state of continuous unfulfilled urges, more commonly known as unhappiness.”

WTF?  This just doesn’t seem fair to men, nor does it seem accurate.  Do most men really feel out of place in society, as if they are round pegs destined to spend their lives trying to unsuccessfully fit into square holes (worst analogy ever, btw)? And are most - if not all, which seems to be what Mr. Adams is suggesting - of their natural instincts really seen by society as “shameful and criminal”?  Am I just incredibly lucky and lack any males in my life who fall into this description?  The guys I know, as far as I can tell, are guided by instincts that are considered noble and admirable not only to me, but also to society.  Besides, I believe men still hold a significantly greater amount of power in this society, and although that might be changing gradually, I fail to see how society could possibly have evolved to be so foreign and unwelcoming to the priorities of men if it is still being shaped mostly by men…

At the end of his post, he mentions that he thinks that science will, in the long term, “come up with a drug that keeps men chemically castrated for as long as they are on it,” and as a result, “copulation will become extinct” - why?  Because men no longer are interested in sex, women will forget that it exists?

Bizarre Hugh Hefner example (a failed marriage means society just isn’t accommodating to his, um, round peg? Like I said, worst analogy EVER) and extra points off for being entirely hetero-centric.
